This summer Programa Velasco is receiving a boost of vital help and creative energy from Carolyn Cyrana, Lauren Thompson and Angel Bohannon, all are located in Chicago and are Summer Development Interns! They are focused on supporting PV in our organizational development, fundraising initatives, grant writing and network. We appreciate their enthusiasm and efforts to strengthening PV!

Carolyn Cyrana is a third-year at the University of Chicago majoring in Public Policy Studies. She is concerned with correctional policy reform and enjoys tutoring formerly incarcerated adults in a high school degree program. While interested in the overall mission of Programa Velasco, Carolyn especially hopes to learn about and work with the Community Savings and Lending Group for Women.
Lauren is from Lafayette, Indiana, but moved to Chicago a few years ago to attend DePaul University. She is honored to be a part of the Programa Velasco team and hopes to raise awareness of the organization in the Chicagoland area. She is pursuing a career in the Non-Profit field and is especially interested in Education.
Hey, my name is Angel and I am a rising second year from the University of Chicago majoring in Public Policy. I am interested about learning everything about the non-profit world as I eventually want to start my own. I like to go on crazy adventures all over Chicago, sing extremely off-tune, and occasionally krump really badly. I guess more than all these things, I just enjoy seeing people smile in a sincere way, and Programa Velasco is the tool through which I can make this happen because it teaches people how to make themselves happy in a continuous sustainable way instead of just providing one-time relief that will eventually fade.
