Programa Velasco Compañeros/as (Companions) commit themselves to strengthening and sustaining necessary projects that are vital for Salvadoran children and families' well-being and future. The latin root of compañero/a symbolizes a simple yet profound calling, to break bread with others. Our invitation to you is to accompany us in the midst of injustice, learn from the example of our beloved martyrs and indeed, break bread with us! By sharing the fruits of your labor with us, you also enable us to make a profound difference in the lives of the children and their families.

Parent Formation Initiative              

Of the 115 famlies in Centro Hogar, many of them have never had an opportunity to participate in a program that invites them to reflect on     who they are, encourages them to seek their goals and teaches them positive ways to handle family hardship. You can make this opportunity possible with your on-going donations! To facilitate the workshops, Programa Velasco provides funds for materials, a stipend for a teacher to take care of the children and refreshments. Your gift of $55 makes these workshops and adult formation possible!

The Fund for Vocations in Spiritual Activism

As a Compañero/a, your gift will enable the social worker and psychologist to live out their vocational call of service to children in need of emotional development and support. You will provide an opportunity for children to receive the resources and support they and their families truly need and wouldn't otherwise have access to.  

Community Savings &Lending Group for Women 

Your on-going contributions of $25, $50 or $75 will go directly to the group's communal account providing them more means of self-sustainability and access to credit for their small businesses. Your gift enables the women to improve their businesses and grow their group's shared funds. By empowering the women to strengthen themselves, your gift creates renewed growth in their families' lives, the development of their businesses and their collective hope!
