Geoffrey Hennies has served as Programa Velasco’s web designer since 2009! Over the years, he has traveled from his home in Guatemala to work with us in El Salvador a few times, but this experience was by far the most impactful.
“I was honored to be invited to join the board members for a journey to understand more fully the work of Programa Velasco.
I had no idea how much of an impact it would have on me. I have worked for many non-profits over the years, and I do not know of any that put their resources to use as well as Programa Velasco.
The results of their labors are so very impressive from the stories, and the faces of some that we met while traveling into the communities. The women entrepreneurs were so grateful not only for Programa Velasco, but also shared their immense gratitude for those of us supporting them, as one entrepreneur, Esmeralda said “without even knowing us.” I remain in awe both of the immense task ahead, as there are so many more to help, but also in the daily accomplishments that Programa Velasco achieves in their work. Their dedication and hard work shows in each person we met whether it be in their success, or their strengthened can-do attitude that has come from their involvement in the programs being made available to them.”
