Hello, all! Programa Velasco (PV) a 501c3 organization that operates in El Salvador. PV’s core service is training women entrepreneurs in business management skills and providing them with needed mental health services. Programa Velasco’s services also ensure that children can access a pre-school education as well as mental health services for them and their families. PV was founded and is led by my oldest friend and former neighbor, Annie Boyd (pictured here at a PV fundraiser in 2018). 

The pre-school where the children PV supports attend school is where I spent a couple days a week as a teacher’s aid during my time abroad (pictured here!). PV works to provide opportunities for children, women and families to disrupt some of the most challenging aspects of the Salvadoran reality: poverty, violence, gender inequity and forced migration. I am a longtime supporter of PV and joined their Board of Directors in 2020. I’m delighted to share the good work of this incredible organization in a place that will forever be near and dear to my heart.
