Ways To Give
A gift in your will
Designate a specific amount or percent of your estate and your legacy gift will empower our continued work.
A gift in your will
Make a gift that costs nothing now and solidify a lasting legacy. Here is sample text to use in your will and/or please consider sharing your intention with us via this notion of intention form.
The notice of intention is not binding but it allows us to thank you today, helps PV plan its future, and encourages other supporters to make a gift that will transform the experiences of PV’s participants in El Salvador.

Gifts from retirement plans via IRA rollovers
Make tax advantageous contributions and lower your adjusted gross income
Gifts from retirement plans via IRA rollovers
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD), otherwise known as IRA charitable rollovers or IRA gifts allow individuals age 70 ½ and over to donate up to $105,000 in individual retirement account (IRA) assets. It’s also tax-free and not included in a donor’s adjusted gross income.
How it works:
Individuals may make gifts to charity from traditional and Roth IRA accounts without any federal tax liability as long as the gifts are “qualified charitable distributions.” No charitable deduction may be taken by the owner, but distributions will qualify for all or part of an IRA owner’s Required Minimum Distribution.
Requirements for “qualified charitable distributions”:
- Gifts are tax-free up to $105,000 per year
- Gifts will qualify for all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution
- IRA holder must be age 70 ½ or older at the time of the gift
- Gifts must be outright gifts to a charitable organization
- Distributions may only be made from traditional IRAs or Roth IRAs

Gifts of tangible personal property or real estate
Donating non-cash assets like real estate or gifts-in-kind is a personalized way to support our Salvadoran communities while benefiting from significant tax benefits.
Gifts of life insurance
Designating PV as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy provides us financial stability, ensuring continuity of our impactful projects while providing you with possible tax deductions.
Gifts of appreciated securities
Gifting stocks, bonds, or mutual funds can help PV diversify funding sources with an opportunity to grow value over time while providing donors substantial tax benefits.
Gifts of appreciated securities
Another tax-wise giving strategy by donating low-basis, long-term securities instead of cash.
How it works:
Step 1: You can instruct your broker to make the transfer from your account to PV’s account.
Step 2: You will receive an income-tax deduction
Step 3: PV may keep or sell the securities
Benefits:
- You may receive a federal income-tax deduction for the full fair-market value of the securities
- You avoid long-term capital-gain tax on any appreciation in the value of the stock
- Your gift will support PV as you designate
